Theresa Owens

Theresa Owens is a dedicated educator, loving mother, and creative spirit who spent nearly four decades shaping the lives of children. Over an impressive 37-year career with Guilford County Schools (GCS), Theresa served as a special needs teacher assistant. In this vital role, she provided patience, encouragement, and specialized support to countless students, helping them navigate challenges and discover their unique strengths. Her enduring commitment to exceptional children has left a lasting legacy of kindness and care within the local school community.

Now officially retired, Theresa embraces a vibrant and fulfilling second chapter of life. She treasures her well-deserved time off, much of which is spent alongside her daughter, Terri. Her home is also filled with the lively companionship of her two beloved dogs, Shortie and Snoopy, as well as her grand-dog, Jolene.


When she isn't spending time with family, Theresa channels her energy into her faith and lifelong passions. She is deeply involved in her community, spending meaningful time serving in the Women’s Ministry at her church. An avid gardener, she finds great joy in nurturing her extensive plant collection. An artisan at heart, she also fills her days with sewing and crafting, transforming ordinary materials into beautiful, handmade creations. Theresa’s retirement stands as a beautiful reflection of her life's work: rooted in patience, growth, and a passion for making the world a brighter, more beautiful place.
