Thanks to the grant support of local foundations, The Arc of Greensboro has launched a new program targeting people with developmental disabilities and their families.
ARCbarks Dog Treat Program The Arc of Greensboro received a $15,000 grant from the Kathleen and Joseph M. Bryan Community Enrichment Venture Grant initiative for new programs that will strengthen human services in the local community. Grant funds will be used toward a new Dog Treat business that will provide marketing and leadership skills for adults 21 years of age and older, with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The program will help these young individuals to transition from high school to adult life in the community. The Arc is collaborating with several key business men and women in the community that will help this program become a small business enterprise.
Project Search Grant Part of a national grant initiative, The Arc of Greensboro has been selected to collaborate on an innovative project with The Guilford Center, Vocational Rehabilitation Services of Greensboro, Guilford County Schools and Guilford Technical Community College. This project will assist adults 18-21 years of age in transitioning from high school to adult life in the community.
