Mental Retardation Sabbath/Sunday

Each year Mental Retardation Sabbath/Sunday is a time to help acquaint congregations as well as the general public with the needs, hopes, and abilities of children and adults who have mental retardation. The third weekend of March during Mental Retardation Awareness Month is a suggested date for this observance, but any weekend convenient to your worship center's calendar is appropriate.
Bulletin inserts for Mental Retardation Sabbath/Sunday are made available through our local Arc office. Some churches are provided leaflets through internal sources. Sometimes in past years, Baptist churches that are part of the Piedmont Baptist Association obtained leaflets by contacting the Director of Missions or by ordering through the State Baptist Convention. Lutheran churches that have their Synod office in Salisbury may contact the Synod office or district leader to inquire about leaflets. United Methodist churches may be provided leaflets through the Western Conference offices.
For more information, please call us at 373-1076 or 373-1569.
